[From May 30th (Sat), the Norikura-dake Spring Mountain Bus will be extended to Daisekkei/Kata-no-Koya entrance.]

The "Norikura-dake Spring Mountain Bus," which had been operating to the Igahara Mountain Hut bus stop (altitude approximately 2350m) since April 27th, has been discontinued.
Starting May 30th, the bus service will be extended to the Daisekkei/Kata-no-Koya-guchi bus stop (altitude approximately 2620m).
(Originally scheduled for June 1st, but has been moved up.)

This extension will improve access to snow walls, skiing on the large snowfields, and climbing Mount Norikura (Kengamine).

The highest point of the snow wall is about a 5-10 minute walk along the road from the Daisekkei bus stop, and as of May 28th, it was 9 meters high.
You can also enjoy the scenery from the bus on your way there and back. Be sure to enjoy the snow walls that are taller than the bus itself.
The snow walls will gradually get lower, so be sure to come soon!

The hiking trail from the Daisekkei bus stop to the summit of Mt. Norikura (Kengamine) is mostly covered in snow, so crampons or chain spikes are necessary to prevent slipping (crampons are recommended as the snow can be hard depending on the temperature *as of May 25th).
