Ichinose "Zamoan" Revival Project

Zaboan is currently closed

Ichinose was once the bustling center of the Norikura Highlands. As a base to bring back the bustle of the area, a project is underway to renovate the diner "Zabouan," which has been closed due to deterioration, and revive it as a new cafe.
By renovating the facility in line with the Ichinose Redevelopment Project, which will be carried out by the Ministry of the Environment from 2023 to 2025, we hope to create a base where many people can enjoy the rich natural environment!
To raise the necessary funds, we have started a crowdfunding campaign.
We would appreciate your support.

Ichinose was once the center of the Norikura Plateau, and cattle were grazed there, creating an idyllic landscape. However, for various reasons, cattle grazing was discontinued, and the landscape has changed over the years, raising concerns about forestation.

Until the 1990s, cattle were grazed in Ichinose, creating a vast ranch landscape.

In recent years, local residents have proactively worked to maintain the landscape, and it is gradually returning to its former glory.

Local businesses are steadily preparing to reopen Ichinose Nature Plaza, located at the entrance to Ichinose, which had been closed for a while. A takeaway cafe called KURUMu has already opened this season!

Ichinose is an important place that can be said to be the spiritual home of the local residents.
There are many people who share the same feelings and love Norikura, and visit regularly.
However, recently I have started to hear comments from people such as, "Ichinose is so lifeless and lonely," and "It feels like it's becoming more and more deserted," and every time I hear this, I feel sad.

Ichinose is gradually regaining its vitality, and we hope that more people will learn about and enjoy this rich natural environment.

With this in mind, we have decided to make Zaboan our base in Ichinose and have begun renovations!

The area around Zaboan offers a wide view that lets you feel the Norikura Plateau, and the relaxing atmosphere of the soothing murmur of the Ichinose River. The Ministry of the Environment has also agreed to use this place as a base, public toiletsNew construction of parking lotGreening, around the streamUniversal sidewalksIn addition, the area surrounding Zaboan, which stands on a small hill, will be a place where you can enjoy the highland scenery.Large deckThe construction of a new facility was also planned.

When we looked for a business operator to manage Zaboan, a local woman in her 30s who had a strong attachment to the place decided to return to her hometown and volunteered. We are currently preparing to create a space that embodies the comfort of Ichinose while also offering a new feel that can be enjoyed by younger generations.

The Tourism Association does not have a lot of financial resources, and is currently being forced to operate under difficult circumstances due to a decline in membership (due to business closures, etc.) and an aging membership. The project was selected as eligible for Matsumoto City's regional development subsidy, and was awarded two-thirds of the subsidy, and renovation work has begun. However, the local Onogawa Ward and the Tourism Association have come together to raise as much money as possible, and have begun the renovation work. We would appreciate your support.
