Norikura Kogen Mirise begins.

Norikura Highlands is a place where people live by making the most of nature and being sustained by it, and where tourists are welcome to visit. Now, as the times change and social conditions change, we face a variety of challenges. In order to move forward into the next era, we have organized a common vision for the region and the efforts to achieve it into "Norikura Highlands Miraizu," and have begun to move toward its implementation. We would like to introduce you to "Norikura Highlands Miraizu," which holds the key to the future of the Norikura region.

Miraiz is based on a joint regional concept called "Towards the Future of the Norikura Area," which was compiled based on the thoughts of local residents and was created based on a workshop and questionnaire survey conducted by Alps Mountain Village Inc. with local residents in 2019. The Ministry of the Environment's Chubu Sangaku National Park Management Office then acted as coordinator, organizing the ideas through working with local stakeholders and daily communication, and the concept was created in March 2021.

This declaration embodies the thoughts of the local people of Norikura and their determination to create the future. By sharing these thoughts not only with those who live in the area, but also with those who visit and are connected to the area, it is likely that understanding and connections within the region will deepen dramatically.

❸ Based on the environment, lifestyle and tourism

Miraizu's core vision is to create a sustainable local community based on the three elements of the environment, lifestyle, and tourism, with each element interacting with the others. Sharing the value of "making use of nature and being influenced by nature to create a sustainable lifestyle," the company aims to "solve global environmental problems from Norikura Highlands," "live a rich life that connects people with nature," and "promote tourism that leads to the revitalization of the entire region."

Miraise shows that while cherishing the Norikura identity that has been cultivated by our predecessors, we are moving forward from a region that has tended to stagnate and tackling various challenges. An exciting future for Norikura that no one has seen before is about to begin here.

From Norikura Plateau Miraise

On the day, all members of the council met to share their understanding of the launch of the council and the implementation schedule for key initiatives common to the region. Beyond affiliation and position, as members of a community building the region, each person finding their own role and taking the initiative to act will be an important key to realizing the vision. Such a positive atmosphere filled the venue.

"For this reason, we need to put special effort into environmental improvement. Following in the footsteps of our ancestors who created this region, we would like to continue our efforts to ensure that both those who live here and those who visit can fully enjoy Norikura's rich natural environment through environmental improvement and trail development, centered around Ichinose."

"Mirise has set out a vision for the region and outlined specific initiatives to make it a reality, marking the start of new community development in Norikura Highlands. Another goal may be to build the connections and relationships that are necessary for the region through efforts to realize this vision. In parallel with this movement, we would like to also move forward step by step with efforts to welcome the young people who will lead the next generation, and those who are attracted to this area and want to move there."
