There are cycling roads on the plateau where you can rent and cycle. From mamachari (a traditional Japanese bicycle) to full-fledged road bikes, you can enjoy cycling at your own pace according to your level. The Norikura Echo Line is the course for the All Japan Mountain Cycling in Norikura, Japan's number one bicycle hill climb race, which is held every year. However, due to restrictions on private cars, the road is currently closed to general traffic, making it a good choice for practice or cycling. (Occasionally buses, taxis and authorized vehicles pass through.)
