Regarding road closures during winter in 2026

Regarding the closure of the Norikura Echo Line during winter.

Norikura Echo Line (Sanbon Falls to Prefectural Border Gate)The road is closed due to snow, and will be closed for the winter season from 6:00 PM on October 31st.

Consequently, the shuttle bus service from the tourist center to Norikura-dake Tatamihira has also ended for this year.

Between Kyukamura and Sanbon-takiRegardingWinter closure begins at 18:00 on November 13th.This is the result.
Please note that the Sanbon-taki parking lot is about 300 meters higher in elevation than the area near the tourist center, so there is a higher possibility of snow and icy roads. Please drive with caution.

Scheduled opening date for the Norikura Echo Line in 2027

The planned opening date for the Norikura Echo Line in 2027 is as follows:

・Kyukamura ~ Sanbon Falls 4/9 11:00~
・Sanbon Falls to Igahara Mountain Hut 4/27 7:00~
・Igahara Mountain Hut to Daisekkei/Kata no Koya Entrance 6/1 7:00~
・Daisekkei/Kata-no-Koya entrance to Norikura-dake summit (prefectural border gate) 7/1 6:00~

(Private cars are restricted year-round beyond Sanbon Falls, and bicycles, taxis, and tour buses will also be allowed to pass from July 1st.)

Regarding bus operations in 2027, please wait for a separate announcement from Alpico Kotsu.

Regarding winter road closures in the surrounding area

Some roads around Norikura Plateau will be closed during the winter. Also, since these roads pass through high altitudes, there is a possibility of snow and icy roads even before the closures. Please exercise caution.
