During his student years, he was passionate about soccer, and participated in the Yomiuri Youth team and the Inter-High School Championships. In college, he was inspired by adventure racing and started running in the mountains, and from 1999 he traveled the world competing with "TEAM EAST WIND". Since 2002 he has been based in the United States, and has achieved brilliant results such as winning the Japan Mountain Endurance Race twice in a row, becoming the first Japanese person to complete the UTMB, and winning the "Grand Slam of Ultrarunning" and "Rocky Mountain Slam" in the United States.

Domestically, he is dedicated to promoting trail running and addressing environmental issues through producing events such as the "Shin-etsu Five Peaks Trail Running Race" and conducting seminars. He has visited Norikura Plateau many times with Mr. Miura and has a deep understanding of the trail's appeal. He has also participated in trail maintenance, contributing to its preservation. - SEIJI MIURA NORIKURA FESTIVAL -

The late Seiji Miura, manager of the Osaka running shop RUN-WALK Style, dreamed of making Norikura Kogen a place where many people could walk, run, and cycle around happily. To achieve this, he organized the "RUN & WALK" event, a relaxed and enjoyable race, and also served as producer for the Norikura Sky Marathon. He believed that running, a sport that demands effort, could be enjoyed without any effort at all. Norikura Kogen is a place that embodies this kind of enjoyment, a place where one can be grateful for the opportunity to have fun. This event aims to convey and pass on that sentiment.
