NORIKURA TIMES (budding version)

Cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom in the city, and the cheerful atmosphere of spring is in the air.
At Norikura Plateau, which is located at an altitude of 1,200m to 1,600m, there is still snow remaining, but plants have begun to sprout. After a long winter, we will bring you the latest information on Norikura Plateau as we celebrate the long-awaited arrival of spring.

① Buds

During the winter, covered in pure white snow, the flowers and trees remain silent, but as spring approaches, they begin to move little by little.
Flowers that emerge from the ground after the cold winter, such as the blooming adonis flowers that burst forth on the snow-covered ground, the cute round butterbur sprouts, and the skunk cabbage that has just begun to sprout, can also be seen. If you look up, you can also spot the budding of trees such as the Japanese snowbell and the Japanese oak.
Why not take a leisurely stroll through Norikura Highlands and discover spring?

② Tastes that celebrate the arrival of spring

This is the time of year when you can enjoy the arrival of spring through food, such as crispy and fragrant butterbur tempura and delicious bitter butterbur miso.
If you are staying at Norikura Highlands during this time, you may be able to experience the arrival of spring through the meals at restaurants and lodgings.
