When you visit Norikura Plateau, you will be sure to create many memories that will be etched in your heart, including the beautiful natural scenery, activities that allow you to fully enjoy nature, delicious mountain food, and the people you meet along the way.
We have picked out and introduced some recommended items that are packed with the essence and story of Norikura Highlands, perfect for sharing your memories of your trip to Norikura Highlands with someone special or as a gift for yourself.

❶ YUM YUM TREE Baumkuchen

Handmade Baumkuchen made at the Baumkuchen workshop located at the highest altitude in Japan.
Because the air is thin, the air tightly trapped between the layers of the baumkuchen expands when baked at high temperatures, resulting in an incredibly fluffy and moist baumkuchen. In addition to the classic "Tenku Baumkuchen," there are many other choices, such as baumkuchen shaped like birch trees and seasonal flavors. Some people even say that once you try it, you won't be able to eat any other baumkuchen!
Please take it home with you, along with the highland air that is packed into each layer of the Baumkuchen.

❷ Mountain plum jam and mountain plum wine

Mountain plum jam and mountain plum wine made from wild mountain plums that grow in the Norikura Plateau.
The wild, sweet and sour taste is irresistible. Available at Echo Norikura.

❸ Yunohana

Yunohana is formed when the hot spring water comes into contact with air and the components contained in the hot spring precipitate.
The hot spring deposits at Norikura Kogen Onsen are collected from a natural spring source that is drawn from the middle of Mount Norikura. They are then dried in the sun for about two months, crushed, and then packed.
From harvesting to packaging, everything is done by hand to create authentic Yunohana. A must-see for hot spring lovers.
It is sold at souvenir shops on the plateau, inns that have hot spring water, day-trip bathing facilities, soba restaurants, etc., so you can enjoy Norikura Kogen Onsen (sulfur spring) in the comfort of your own home.
*Since this product contains strong ingredients that can corrode metal, we recommend using it in a bathtub that does not have a circulating system, or placing it in a bucket and using it as a foot bath.
Please read the instructions on the bag carefully before use.

Norikura Umaimono Kobo's oyaki, renowned for their chewy texture and simple flavor, are handmade one by one by local mothers. They use wild vegetables that grow in the Norikura Plateau, cultivate and harvest crops suited to this region with its large temperature differences, and carefully make oyaki by wrapping ingredients cooked with simple seasonings in dough made from local flour. It is a popular item with many repeat customers.
Available for purchase at Okamisan Shokudo, irodori, and Gift NORiKURA.
We can also ship frozen to other regions (for orders of 10 or more).

There is a wide variety of jams unique to this region, such as blueberries, wild grapes, rhubarb, and plums, so it's fun to choose from them.
Choose from our wide selection of gifts and they're sure to be delighted.

❻ Norikura Bandoko Maryland Cookie Tin

This is an assortment of cookies made with milk from goats raised in Norikura Plateau (Bansho area).
The milk of healthy goats raised on fresh grass in the spacious grasslands of the former Igaya Ski Resort is known for its mild and delicious flavor. It is used in various sweets and other dishes at cafes and restaurants on the plateau.
Despite this, raising goats in the harsh winters of Norikura Highlands is a difficult endeavor, requiring considerable costs and effort. This cookie tin is made with the hope that most of the profits will be used to cover the cost of raising the goats, and that it will be an opportunity to continue the "lifestyle of Norikura with goats." The cookies are handmade one by one by a local pastry chef, who is particular about using no additives, and have a simple taste. The cute label, depicting the scenery of Norikura where the goats live, is also heartwarming.
Yes, you can buy it at Okaasan Shokudo.
