NORIKURA TIMES (Early Winter Living)

Recently, snow has fallen on the Norikura Plateau, signaling the arrival of winter. Late November to early December is the quietest time of the year. This time, we'll be sharing with you the daily life of Norikura.

NORIKURA TIMES (Early Winter Living)

① Living conditions

・The warmth of a wood stove

During this season, many inns and homes light wood stoves, and a daily pleasure is watching the flames of the fire and getting warm. Time passes so comfortably that you forget the cold. Looking out the window, you can see that it is snowing more and more often.

・The joy of making sweets

As Christmas approaches, baking is an exciting time for me. I recently tried baking apple pies and cakes in a wood-burning stove, and they were especially delicious.

A peaceful moment in nature

When I took a walk around Ichinose in the morning, I noticed that Maimenoike Pond was frozen over. There were few other people walking around, so I had the view all to myself. It is precisely during this quiet time of year that I was able to fully enjoy the beauty of nature.

② The appeal of ski resorts

Mt. Norikura Snow Resort, located in the Norikura Plateau, is scheduled to open on Saturday, December 9th. This ski resort, located at the foot of Mt. Norikura, offers a wide variety of courses for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. You can also enjoy the wonderful powder snow made possible by the dry snow quality. Be sure to come and experience the superb skiing experience and unique floating sensation.
After you've had a tiring day of playing, we recommend relaxing in the hot springs to soothe your body and mind.
