Enjoying Spring on Mount Norikura

For our first "play-date," Setsu, Yuma, Azumi, and Kenny took the spring mountain bus to Norikura-dake (乗鞍岳) and Daisetsuken (大雪渓)! First of all, let me introduce myself and show you some pictures...

Self Description: I moved to Norikura Kogen in 2005 from Hood River, Oregon, USA as an outdoor installer. These days I enjoy living with my 5 children and wife, training leaders, organizing, and starting up brands. I look forward to sharing new perspectives and ideas from my favorite places I have found in the world!

Introduction: In 2005 I moved from Hood River, Oregon (USA) to #BeautifulNorikura Kogen to work as an outdoor instructor.
I am currently enjoying the challenge of raising 5 children with my wife (in a foreign country) and working to develop healthy leaders, organizations, and communities.
I'm looking forward to sharing new perspectives and fresh ideas from my backyard (which happens to be my favorite place in the world). What did you enjoy on the mountain?

It was a perfect day to go out to the mountains. My favorite part was talking about life and purpose at 2,600 meters altitude. After that talk, we snowboarded down the spring snow.

What did you think of your day on the mountain?

Self Introduction: 4th year Norikura immigrant. This is my home place where I can return to my natural state. I want to connect this beautiful nature to the future.

Introduction: I moved to Norikura about 4 years ago and am almost 40 years old. this place is where people can come alive and experience nature first hand. want to pass on this beautiful nature to the next generation.

I climb Norikura-dake regularly to express my gratitude to Mt. Norikura for providing me with the blessings of daily life! Today was a clear day and from the ridgeline and summit we had a panoramic view of the Hotaka mountain range, Ontake and other Alpine peaks. This is the easiest mountain to climb in Japan at 3,000 meters. Even beginners can climb this mountain!

What did you enjoy on the mountain?
I climb Mount Norikura often to give thanks for all the natural beauty and provision that comes from the mountain. Mount Norikura is one of the easiest 3,000m mountains to climb in Japan. Even beginners can climb it!

Self Description: Norikura Kogen native, tourism ambassador, singer, moved to Norikura in March 2019, best Norikura life in 16 years.
Norikura-dake, a mountain with a sense of gentleness amidst its strength. I'm home. I'm back." I love the feeling of "I'm back. I want to preserve the beauty of nature and let as many people as possible experience it.

Introduction: I'm originally from Norikura Kogen, I'm currently serving as tourist ambassador, I'm a singer and in March of this year I moved back to this beautiful place for the first time in 16 years.
Mount Norikura gives an amazing feeling gentleness and strength that makes me feel like saying “I'm home” whenever I visit. I want lots of people to experience the beauty and power of this raw and natural environment.

I'll never forget the taste of sandwiches and coffee after climbing, climbing, climbing and wheezing! I was not as good a sledder as I thought I was.

How was the mountain?
We climbed and climbed and climbed and I lost my breath. But it was worth it because we got to enjoy coffee and a sandwich on the mountain. how bad I am at sledding.

Self Introduction: Born and raised in Norikura, I am a man who loves nature and everything about this area. Norikura Kogen is always there for me. It is always there, but it is not always the same. It reminds me of that.

For me, Norikura Kogen is part of me, it's my home. It's always here, but it's not always the same. It will make you pay attention and become more aware.

Exciting and exciting stories were born while walking on the snow with like-minded friends in the overwhelming wilderness! The climb was tiring but pleasantly exhausting! Refreshing!

How was the mountain?
I had a great time thinking about the story we want to tell as we walked together in the snow. It felt like we were out in the wilderness! It was a hard climb but well worth it and so refreshing!


It's great to relax and admire nature, but it's also great to play with nature.
So we areChunsan BusFrom there, you can climb up Daisetsukkei to the end of the mountain to reach the "Daisetsukkei Kajo-no-Hagoya-guchi" and then go up Daisetsukkei to the top of the mountain.key snowboardWe enjoyed sledding. As for Yuma, he climbed to the top of the 3026-meter-high Kenga-mine and prayed under the blue sky! After getting tired, we had a break for snacks, coffee, and chatting while admiring the wonderful nature. Even if you don't have any equipment to play with, you can make a snowman out of the remaining snow or walk up to the snow wall and try to take a # photo.

Crampons, snowshoes, poles, and goggles are essential for safe sledding. When sledding, remove crampons and snowshoes to avoid injury.

I did not use crampons for the photo shoot.
